About the pastor

Pastor Moses Wright and Lady Nettrice Wright were baptized in Jesus’ name and filled with the Holy Ghost at Philadelphia Open Door Church of Christ in Washington, D.C. He began as a diligent worker in the church, occupying several positions until he was called to the ministry in 1998.

Since then, he has been sharing the message of the gospel for over 20 years. When Pastor Moses and Lady Nettrice Wright first thought about holding a church in Washington, D.C. in May of 2009, all they had was a few donations and four small children. Straight out of a one-year Church sabbatical, the young pastor and his lady, Nettrice, dreamed of building a church for the Lord Jesus Christ that would be “a place where people would become built-up from the inside out” from the Word of God and eventually through the power of gospel of Jesus Christ, their story would become their praise. A place to find acceptance, forgiveness and being reset, growth and encouragement.

From the beginning, Pastor Wright wanted his church to be a place for people who were concerned about knowing Our Lord Jesus Christ and not just knowing Church. Their journey has taken them from starting a small Bible Study held in their home and then to, on the third Sunday in May of 2009, their first public service. In the decade that followed that first service, God has continued to expand the influence of Temple of Praise Church of Christ in the Apostolic Faith.
